Star magazine quotes sources as saying actor SHIA LABEOUF is facing amputation of one of his fingers on his injured left hand. A source on the New Mexico set of Shia's new movie, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, says the actor telephoned producers Wednesday and told them doctors may have to amputate the pinky finger on his left hand. The source tells the magazine the news has, quote, "really thrown the movie into turmoil." Transformers director MICHAEL BAY has already said he may work LaBeouf's injury into the story.
The 21-year-old actor's hand was crushed when his SUV rolled at an intersection in West Hollywood on July 27th after being struck by another vehicle that ran a red light. Though LaBeouf was exonerated of blame in the accident, he was charged with DUI. The actor's rep was unavailable for comment

The movie is about three strippers who come across a young couple in the desert. Varla, the character Britney would play, kills the boyfriend with her bare hands, and then holds the girlfriend hostage. As Britain's Telegraph newspaper reports, "A source says, "Quentin is convinced Britney will be brilliant."
